Have you ever thought you heard Gods voice, only to later question if that really was God? How do you know when you have clearly heard His voice. I'm amazed at how so many people have given the time, resources, and life to God, only to not know how and when He speaks to them. In St. John 10:27 Jesus said, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. Listen there are three things that can shake you confidence after hearing Gods voice. Number one, Listening to other people's opinions. I can't tell you how many times after clearly hearing God's voice, that someone comes along and gives me their anointed interpretation of what they believe God is saying. Now, what i am not saying is that God can't use other people, but someone else's revelation from God, might not be for you. Number two, Looking at your circumstances. It was William F. Halsey that said, There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet. II Corinthians 4:18 says, So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. In other words, your circumstances are subject to change. Number three, Ourselves. How many times have you allowed your thoughts to cause you to question God. My only advice is to stop asking everybody what they think you should do for in most cases, this only brings more confusion. If you're unsure if God is speaking to you, why don't you just ask Him. |
