Have you ever thought you heard Gods voice, only to later question if that really was God? How do you know when you have clearly heard His voice. I'm amazed at how so many people have given the time, resources, and life to God, only to not know how and when He speaks to them. In St. John 10:27 Jesus said, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. Listen there are three things that can shake you confidence after hearing Gods voice. Number one, Listening to other people's opinions. I can't tell you how many times after clearly hearing God's voice, that someone comes along and gives me their anointed interpretation of what they believe God is saying. Now, what i am not saying is that God can't use other people, but someone else's revelation from God, might not be for you. Number two, Looking at your circumstances. It was William F. Halsey that said, There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet. II Corinthians 4:18 says, So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. In other words, your circumstances are subject to change. Number three, Ourselves. How many times have you allowed your thoughts to cause you to question God. My only advice is to stop asking everybody what they think you should do for in most cases, this only brings more confusion. If you're unsure if God is speaking to you, why don't you just ask Him.

Have you ever been in such a rush, that you left home without your cell phone. Talk about feeling like a fish out of water. Just last week, I'm heading to the gym to get my morning workout in, and halfway there, you guessed it, I forget my I phone. Here was my dilemma, I was to far to turn around to go it, but not close enough to the gym to just forget about it. Just the very thought of not being able to communicate with my friends and love ones became outright stressful. I thought, what if my wife calls, or what if one the church members calls? God forbid. What if i get that big sales calls and miss that big deal? For so many people electronic devices, well let's face it, has become our way of life. Just look around you, everyone is connected or attached to some electrical device. For those of you under thirty, you might remember a time when pagers/beepers and pay phones were the only way to communicate outside of a land line. Then it hit me, do we value our connection with God as much as we value being up on the latest devices? How many times have you left home without saying a single word to God? Have we become so connected to everyone else, that we have forgot Jesus, who die for our sins? What about the time He delivered you when your life was full of darkness? Or the time when you had a broken heart from that failed relationship? Listen my friends, don't let your connections, keep you from being connected!

Sincerely,

Pastor Reggie

We will address topics like Prop 8 and the Gay lifestyle in the church. Is it a choice or a destiny. We will talk about the black church and it's leaders. Has it become a social networking club where people come to be entertained and not challenged to changed? Finally, our primary objective will be to show that contrary to popular opinions, the church is still relevant to all of life matters. We want to know your thoughts as we address these topics. We look forward to hearing from you as we dig deeper into the Cross Centered Life.

Sincerely,

Pastor Reggie
